The Society of Italian American Businessmen (SIAB) exists as an association of its members to promote the Italian-American culture and heritage, to undertake such acts of charity and community service as the members deem advisable, and to make donations to local charities from the net proceeds through its fundraising initiatives held throughout the year. The SIAB is committed to being meaningfully involved in the Harford County communities where our members live, work, or worship. The SIAB’s charitable giving focuses on education, health and human services, as well as organizations that support a vibrant community. The SIAB defines health and human services as charities that provide social programs, resources, and/or support to citizens in need in Harford County.
In order for an organization to be considered, it must meet the following:
- Organizations must be a registered 501 (c)(3) Charitable Organization
- Organizations must be focused on one or more of the following areas: education, youth, social issues, community need, cultural awareness, emergency/disaster relief
- Organizations must have a physical presence and/or provide services in Harford County, Maryland

Interested applicants should contact the SIAB via email at email@example.com for a Sponsorship & Contribution/Grant Request Form, or download the form from the website at www.thesiab.org.
- Review Process
Applications are initially reviewed by Charitable Giving Committee and eligible requests will be further submitted to the Board of Directors for review and approval. The Board of Directors includes the SIAB’s officers who will review funding requests at its monthly Board of Directors meeting. Requests will be approved based on the merits of the organization’s application, and how the requesting organization’s needs align with the SIAB’s Mission.
- Notification & Support
The organization will be notified of the status of its application within 30 days of receipt of the application. Please note that in consideration for receiving funds all organizations will be required to submit a release of liability form. Please be advised that the SIAB’s charitable giving budget is established annually and approved by the Board of Directors. The SIAB reserves the right to deny requests for sponsorships, contributions, or grants and/or suspend its charitable contributions at any time.
